Mining Questions:
GPUs give you versatility to change what you mine over time. The mining space is a constantly changing world and we need flexibility. ASICs lock us into mining one or a very small number of coins. And with new ASICs coming out all the time we need to control our destiny.
There are many and there are always changing. If you are looking to maximize profitability I suggest looking at services like nicehash.com. They will auto convert your the most profitable coins into large cap coins like BTC and ETH for you. If you look at the NiceHash OS, then they can maximize your profits for you.
Cloud mining gives people access to our proven design and cheap power while eliminating the maintenance, noise, heat and power consumption of running a miner at home.
Furthermore, it gives you the potential to scale beyond what you could at home without the pitfalls that many miners go through. But if you’re looking to do large-scale mining and feel that cloud mining isn’t right for you, reach out to us, so we can help ensure that you have a successful operation.
There are several good places to look. Hopefully you have some experience with building a PC, experience with installing window and/or Linux will also help. There are several good “Mining OSs” now days so those can also help a lot. But we recommend the reddit r/gpumining wiki as a good starting point.
Information is key and a couple sites I visit on a regular basis are:
There are many places to go with this. First many start with Windows. However this will not scale well, paying $100/rig for an OS is a non-started if your going to run more than a few rigs. Also there are many good mining OS out there now. These are all based on Linux and make installing drivers and mining software trivial. Also OSs line NiceHash offer ability to integrate with there backend to manage the miners and currency conversion. For this reason we recommend NichHash OS.
We built our own images from scratch based on Ubuntu Linux. We did this since we don’t run local storage on our miners, instead we network boot each miner off a central server. This allows us to update over 100 miners with a simple change at the server. This has significant upfront investment, but it pays off as we evolve our software.
General:
We are experienced miners, with developing and running over 1100 GPUs in our farm. We are happy to share our knowledge and experience with fellow miners.
